William Faminoff
A major part of William’s career has focused on sports and entertainment law. He is a trusted advocate for elite athletes, musicians, and performers. During a transformative era in international athletics in the 1980s and 1990s, he navigated the legal,
William has spent multiple years coordinating transactions in several jurisdictions, particularly in North America, Asia, Europe, and Latin America. His international portfolio includes helping families and corporate investors with cross-border immigration matters, as well as partnering with developers to structure major real estate, hospitality and infrastructure ventures.
For the past 25 years, he has also channelled his entrepreneurial experience into the tech industry, working with inventors and engineers to secure joint ventures and licensing agreements for emerging innovations focused on environmental sustainability and industrial efficiency.
William holds a law degree from Dalhousie University’s Schulich School of Law, where he balanced his legal education with competitive athletics, playing for the law faculty basketball team for three years. This lifelong passion for sports carried over into his community work, where he’s spent many years coaching and mentoring youth in teamwork and discipline.
Led by the philosophy that professional success carries a responsibility to give back, William is a fierce advocate for access to justice, consistently devoting his time to pro bono and reduced-fee legal services for individuals in challenging situations.
